Do You Really Want To Succeed In Your Life?

But after having said this and that, he stunned me with his reply, "I am not sure, whether I have the time for it". I double checked with him, is it the price of the course that is holding him back, he told me not. It is the time, that concerns him most. Well, I told him, it is OKAY. I asked him to go back and think about it. He promised me that he would seriously considered about it.

My point is:
Do You Really Want To Succeed In Your Life?

You see, if you really want to succeed, if you really want something really bad, then you HAVE TO invest your time in it. It is A LOT of hard work, patience, discipline, and persevarance. Money does not fall from sky. It's all hard effort in how bad you really want to make your dream come true! There is simply no other way.

There is no magical pill that you can drink today and make you rich tomorrow. No such thing. Dont ever believe in a get-rich-quick scheme. Dont give your self a false hope and wishes.

I am not saying that I have already succeeded myself. Indeed, it is still a long way to go for me. But I take heart in it and give all my best shot to achieve my dreams. I can tell you that it is no joke and it is a serious business that involves your money. You have to spend some money in order to make some money. Before you make some money, you must first have the know-how. In order to have that, you have to invest in your FINANCIAL INTELLIGENCE (read: your brain). As simple as that.

So, let me ask you this question again. Do you really want to succeed in your life? What have you done to achieve it and what are you waiting for? Success can only be achieved if we take action, even it is a step by step thing so long that it is moving forward. If you dont take action, then stop dreaming.

There is a difference when something is a MUST and when something is merely a WISH.

Is Investing Really Risky?

Almost everytime I have discussions with my friends about forex, most of them will say that "Oh, Forex is very risky", "Forex is too risky", "Be careful, forex is damn risky" and stuff like that.

In fact, I have to agree with them saying that Forex is risky...... JUST BECAUSE you do not know what you are doing about Forex, of course will make Forex looks very risky. Indeed, everything is risky if we were not sure what we are doing.

From the moment you wake up in the morning, go to work, execute your jobs, go back home, eating dinner, laying back watching tv, walking to shower room and etc etc etc, in fact all of the above are risky activities! Of course, if you do not pay attention, if you dont have sufficient knowledge or if you just anyhow do your job, then EVERYTHING is VERY RISKY!

You see, it depends how you define "RISK" is. Warren Buffet ever mentioned that risk comes from not knowing what we are doing. Just read the sentence again and let it sink in your mind just a bit. I get fed up when people complaints this and that are risky but never ever take action to actually do something about it.

Is Investing Really Risky?

Is it really true that investing is risky? The answer is... it
depends. The risk in an activity very much depends on the level of
competence of the person doing that activity.

For example, is it risky to drive a car?

Well, if you have never gone for any driving lessons and have no
idea how to read road signs, engage the gears or to use your
side-view mirrors, then there is a high chance that you could get
yourself badly hurt or even killed.

However, if you have a thorough understanding of how to drive well,
then driving is a low risk activity.

Similarly, investing is risky when you don't know what you are
doing. The scary thing is that the majority of people who invest
their hard earned money in the stock market do not know what they
are doing.

Many people who buy shares of companies have little or no knowledge
of how to invest. They are like that driver who has no clue about
how to work the gears or the rules of the road. This is because you
do not need to take a license or be qualified to be an investor.
Just about anybody can do it!

Most amateur investors do not even have a basic understanding of
the economic cycle and how interest rates and oil prices affect the
global economy & the stock market.

They have no clue as to where and how to read financial reports
that will impact the stock markets. Most have very little financial
& accounting knowledge and do not know how to value the worth of
the company's shares they are buying.

In fact, I am often shocked when I hear of people who invest in a
company without even understanding what business the company is
involved in, let alone understand the company's business strategy.

In the highway of investing, over 70% of investors (mostly the
general public) are driving around without the basic skills of
motoring! This is why many of them crash and burn their hard earned
money.

For the majority of people out there with little financial
competence, investing is truly high risk and maybe high return
(depends a lot on blind luck). To me these people are not investors
but gamblers.

For such people, I would strongly advise them to learn how to drive
or to leave their money in the bank or under their pillow!

When you have a thorough understanding of the stock market & the
rules of investing, then investing is no longer risky! When you
know exactly what you are doing, you can achieve extremely high
returns, with very low risk!

What is FOREX?
The Foreign Exchange (FOREX) Market is a global market where one currency is exchanged for another through a floating-exchange-rate system. The lack of a physical exchange allows the FOREX market to conduct business on a 24hour time frame, from one time zone to another across the chief financial centres. Currencies are generally traded through a broker or dealer and are executed in currency pairs.

How big is the market?
Today, FOREX is currently recognised as the world's largest financial market, with a trading volume upwards of 3 trillion US dollars a DAY. To put that in perspective, the New York Stock Exchange trades about 40 billion US dollars a day. The Forex Market is also FIVE TIMES larger than the stocks and futures market combined. Whats more, this figure is expected to rise to a mind boggling 7 trillion US dollars over the next few years!

The people who make up the FOREX Market include the central banks, the commercial banks, large importers/exporters, tourists and educated speculators. The current estimated number of educated speculators around the world stand at about 30 million.

Is it easy to make money from FOREX?
It certainly easy to make money from FOREX if we have the right strategy to trade. We can make money in a bull (rising) market and in bear (falling) market. We have the flexibility to engage the market and make huge profits regardless of whether the currencies are strengthening or weakening.

If it's so easy to make money from FOREX, why then do so many people lose money in FOREX?

Many people lose money in FOREX because they simply do not have a strategy nor a sound trading psychology. They simply take chances on the following 3 values when placing a trade:

1) Market Direction
2) Market Entry
3) Market Exit

Growing Your Money at Millionaire Returns

All self-made millionaires utilize the power of investing to get their money to make them even more money. They get their money to start working for them so they can eventually stop working for money.

Unless you master this money skill of investing, you will never achieve financial freedom and abundance. However when it comes to investing, most people share the painful experience of getting burnt in the stock market or in mutual funds (unit trusts).

'If I had kept all my money in the bank, I wouldn't have lost half it.' 'After so many years of buying and selling, I find that after all the effort I have merely broken even'. 'I should have kept the money in the bank instead.' ' Every time I buy a stock, it seems to go down.'

Do you share this experience with most investors?

If so, you are one of many people who have developed a phobia of investing and have formed the belief that 'investing is risky'. As a result, you are resigned to keeping your money 'safe' in fixed deposits earning a measly 2%-3%.

This belief is compounded by the fact that we are taught by finance courses, banks and financial advisors that 'High risk leads to high return'. In order to earn high returns, you must be a risk taker!

This is totally rubbish! All of us have been brainwashed by this inaccurate generalization. In fact, the greatest investors in the world are NOT risk takers. They are in fact, very risk averse. Warren Buffett, the world's greatest investor, who achieved 24.7% returns per year for the last 49 years is extremely risk averse.

His fundamental principle in investing is 'capital preservation'. He would rather not make any money if there is a chance of losing it.

His first rule in investing is 'Never Lose Money'. His second rule is 'don't forget rule number one'. As a result, Warren will only invest in a stock if it has very low downside and a very high probability of success of at least 90%.

I follow the exact same philosophy. Again, many people perceive that because of the businesses I have started and the investments I make, I am a risk taker.

In actual fact, my top value is 'security.' I am extremely risk averse and will only invest in a business or stock if they is a 95% chance of winning and even if I lose, the loss is negligible.

To be a winning investor, you must adopt this same principle! You must be risk averse! You must always follow the principle of 'capital preservation.'

Now, you may ask me, ' If high risk does not lead to high returns, then what does?' The answer is 'financial intelligence'. High financial intelligence leads to high returns!

When you have high financial intelligence, there is little risk, because you know exactly what you doing. When you don't have strong financial intelligence to fully understand the business behind the stock, then investing becomes very risky.

Risk is contextual. How risky an activity is depends on the level of competence of the person doing that activity.

For example, if I told you to climb a mountain where there is a pot of gold at the top, would it be risky? Would you have to take a high risk to achieve the high return?

Yes! It is risky for you because you have never been trained in mountain climbing and do not have the necessary safety equipment. There is a high chance you will fall and die!

However, for a professional & experienced climber who has scaled Mount Everest twice without oxygen, would it be risky? No! Why? Because his high level of competence eliminates the risk. To him, it would be low risk, high return.

Take another example, if I were to ask you to drive a formula one race car at 260 km per hour round the racetrack in order to win a grand prize, would it be risky?

Again, to you it would because you are not trained. It would be suicide and I would recommend you not do it at all. However, to Michael Schumaker, it would be low risk and high return, because he has been trained to do it.

So is investing risky? Again it depends. If you are like the majority of people who have not been trained and have low financial intelligence, then it is highly risky!

It's like climbing that mountain with no training at all. Indeed, to them it is high risk, high return. I would suggest that they keep their money in the fixed deposit.

However to Warren Buffett, investing is 'low risk, very high return' because he has a high level of competence in investing.

So again, you can see that high risk does not lead to high return, it is high level of competence that leads to high return.

Make Our Money Work Harder by Investing in Our Financial Intelligence!

Hi Friends,

In order for us to be rich faster, we have to learn how to make our money work harder for us. Unfortunately, just by saving our money in the bank itself may not be enough. The typical saving interest rate of our saving account in Singapore, currently is pathetically very low, starting from 0.25% up to say 2-3% for a fixed deposit account.

On the other hand, we are paying 7% for the goods and services tax (GST)! On top of that, our money in the bank is actually shrinking in its value because of the high rate of inflation. Current inflation rate is about 6%! That means, your $100 today is equal to $94 next year, and only $88 in the next following year!

So, in my opinion, we cant just simply sit down and do nothing about it. In my case, I have to find a way out to help my saving from shrinking its value due to inflation.

As I came from engineering background, I realised that I may be lacking on the financial know-how. So since last year May 07, I have decided that I have to do something and invest in my financial knowledge by reading books, taking up some financial courses and etc. I can guarantee you, it certainly worth it!

As Adam Khoo once said, that the greatest money making asset that will make us a fortune is not from our degree, double degree, MBA, or PhD. It's not from our rich dad, rich mom, rich sister, uncle or grandma. The greatest money making asset it's actually OUR MIND, also known as intellectual asset! When we invest time and money to increase our knowledge and skills, especially our financial intelligence, it will not only return us 2% or 20% of our investment, but in fact it has the potential to give us infinite returns!

In my next few posts, I will be sharing with you few articles, again written by Adam Khoo which I find it useful to shape our mind about investment. Our teacher always says that "Low risk, low return. High risk, high return." But is it always the case? Find out the truth in the next few posts on the Investment Lecture Series by Adam Khoo!

Yes, we all know that budgetting is one way to control your expenses. As a aspire-to-be millionaire, we have to learn how to do proper budgetting and hence control our money.

1) Study Your Monthly Expenses

Well it's time to study the expense column very closely and
identify where you can cut your expenses.

You will be surprised to know that we can easily do without between
20-30% of our monthly expenses.

'Dispensable expenses' are stuff we buy on impulse to get a
ten-minute gratification, and after that it would not make much
difference to our lives.

Or in browsing through glossy flyers and advertisements, we get
attracted to special offers on stuff we do not really need. But we
buy simply because it seems like a good deal.

You must eliminate these expenses as, over the long term, it will
cost you millions of future dollars.

You would be amazed at the impact that a few extra hundred dollars
in monthly savings will have on your future wealth.

This next table shows you that a $300 extra monthly savings would
accumulate into an extra $1.69 million in thirty years.

An additional $600 saved would grow into an additional $3.38
million in thirty years, more than enough to retire on.

2) Pay Yourself First

Most people adopt the earn-spend-save habit. In other words, when
they get their monthly income, they will spend on all their
committed and impulse expenditures.

Whatever, they have left at the end of the month is what they save.
Even if they set aside a budgeted expenditure, this strategy seldom
works.

Why? Somehow, something unexpected might come up that causes people
to spend whatever they have, leaving nothing to be saved.

the grocer, the restaurant, the utility company, the TV repairman,
you have to put aside a fix amount into your investment account.
Then, spend whatever you have left.

In other words, you must earn-save-spend. The moment you earn your
income, you must immediately put aside 10-20% into a separate
investment account. Then live off the rest of the 80%!

The best way to do this is to make it automatic! Instruct your bank
to automatically transfer 10-20% of your in-come into a separate
investment account where the funds are not easily accessible.

This investment account should not have an ATM card where you can
draw it out. You should only have a checkbook which you use to pay
for investments.

Now, if you have got any form of consumer debt, you must modify
this formula a bit. Deduct the first 10% and use it to pay off part
of your principal loan. Then take the next 10% and put it into your
investment account.

3) Stop Before You Buy & Procrastinate

Before you buy anything, always stop and ask yourself the following
questions:
- 'Do I really need this?'
- 'Will I regret buying this three days later?'
- 'How many hours do I have to work to make back the money?'
- 'How much will this cost me in future dollars?'

Then, procrastinate in making a decision on whether to buy or not
to buy.

Say to yourself, 'I'll think about it and come back tomorrow.'
Eight out of ten times, you will not go back and spend that money
as you will probably forget about it.

The best way to stop being a shopaholic is to get yourself so busy
in purposeful and fulfilling work - especially meaningful volunteer
work -so that you don't go shopping until you really need a
particular item.

Many shopaholics admit their weakness is due to spending their free
time wandering the shopping malls. So, find a meaningful way to
occupy your free time and you will stop wasting your money.

4) Destroy All your Credit Cards but One

This next step will be painful but I guarantee it will shave off at
least 15%-20% off your monthly expenses. Cut up all your credit
cards but just leave one.

With lots of credit cards, you will have easy access to lots of
tempting credit. Just use one card with limited credit for all your
expenses...and again, pay the full balance.

5) Plan your Purchases...Only Buy at a Discount

You would easily save another 15-25% if were to plan your
purchases, buying only when there is a special discount and buying
in bulk.

Remember the example I gave you earlier about Ingvar Kamprad, the
founder of IKEA? He would only buy vegetables and fruits in the
afternoon, when the prices have dropped significantly.

As a kid, I observed my dad stocking up on toothpaste whenever the
supermarket had a special promotion. He would stock enough
toothpaste for six months until the next promotion.

I also have friends who buy all their clothes twice a year, during
the citywide sale. So plan your purchases with a three to six month
horizon in mind and buy in bulk whenever there is a very special
promotion.

6) Treat it as a Business Expense

Even if you are a full time employee, you should register a
business for income tax reduction purposes. You can use this
business entity for internet business purposes or to market your
intellectual property.

With a business, you can take certain expenses like transport,
entertainment, office supplies etc. and charge them as business
expenses. Whenever you do, you get an automatic tax deduction.

The higher your in-come tax bracket, the larger the savings. For
example, if you pay 20% in personal in-come taxes, then every time
you claim an expense as a business expense, you save 20%!

So there you have it, the six ways to reduce our expenses by 20-30%
immediately. Remember it will only happen if you start taking
action on it right away!

Only through the combined efforts of increasing your in-come and
reducing your expenses can you save the cash necessary for you to
invest and earn compound growth wealth that will lead you to
financial freedom.

Updates on My Life

Hi Friends,

How are you? It's been more than a month since my last post. I hope you guys are doing fine.

Well I realise, it's been quite a while that I never really share much about my current progress or what I have been up to in this blog. So I will share a fair bit over here.

1. September 07. I changed my job from a researcher in the university, to an engineer in an offshore industry. Big thanks to my friend, Dani, as he recommended me to join this industry. The current company that I am working with, is recognized as the world leader in building oil rigs all over the world. I am blessed and thank God that I have the opportunity to join this industry.

2. October 07. My then girl friend decided to come to stay in Singapore. Great! That means no more long distance relationship for both of us. This was part of our plan as I feel the need for her to get used to living in Singapore before we settle down here.

3. November 07. I and my then girl friend celebrated our ROM !! Hence, we are officially husband and wife! Initially we wanted to have our ROM together with our holy matrimony ceremony. But then, we changed our mind. The folowing working day after our ROM, I sponsored my wife to apply for PR.

4. December 07. About 3 months have passed in my new job. I was assigned to learn and use a finite difference software to model soil-structure interactions. Frankly speaking, I never used the software before, but I strived to learn it as soon as possible. I realised that after I changed my job, I seldom update this blog. I also noticed a drop in my adsense earning do to lack of visitors.

5. January 08. New Year and new resolution. Following Adam Khoo's advice, I decided that I should invest more on my financial intelligence. Thanks to my friend, Christian, he called me one day to invite me for attending a free seminar. It turned out to be a Forex Seminar. At that time, I didnt know much about Forex so I thought "Ok, let's go to the seminar". Later, I committed to invest by taking up the Forex Course by FX1 Academy. I am glad that I took action!

6. February 08. I and my wife went back home to Jakarta to celebrate chinnese new year and my mom's birthday at the same time :) 3 months have passed waiting for my wife's PR application. No news from ICA. Felt a bit anxious.

7. March 08. Finally we received a letter from ICA and thank God that my wife's PR application was approved. After she collected her IC, I brought her to Dennis Wee, property agent seminar. My wife has been dreaming to be a successful property agent. So after the seminar, we decided that she should take action, walk the first step to making her dream a reality. So now, she is working as a property agent under Dennis Wee Pte Ltd. For those of you staying in Singapore and want to buy/sell/rent a property, feel free to contact me okay?! I will ask my wife to do the homework for you!

Wow! You see, 7 months have passed just like that. Time really flies and I believe that we should live our life to the fullest. I am excited as I made decision to invest in my financial intelligence by learning about Forex Trading. I am excited as my wife is pursuing her dream to be a successful property agent.

You see, many people want to be rich. Many people want to be successful. But most people are also simply lazy. Lazy but yet want to be rich. Lazy but yet want to be successful. But common sense will tell us that is just not possible. There is no such thing such as get-rich-quick scheme. We have to accumulate habits that empower us to have the right mindset to be a millionaire or to be successful in anything in life. So do you have the right habits? Do you have the right mindset?

My only wish is that by sharing these lecture series by Adam Khoo, many people including you and me will get enlightened and empowered so that we all can improve and be a better person with the right mindset, especially when it comes to our financial intelligence.

So without further ado, here it comes, the millionaire habit number 7. Enjoy it!

Millionaire Habit 7: Be 100% Committed

There is a very big difference between wanting to become a
millionaire and being 100% committed to becoming a millionaire.

When you merely want, wish or hope to achieve a goal, it will
rarely ever happen. Think about it. Everybody wants to be
financially fre-e, but very few ever make it happen.

Studies after studies have shown that people who achieve phenomenal
success and wealth did not just want it, they were 100% committed
to achieving it. When you are 100% committed to a goal, it is no
longer a wish, a hope or a want...it becomes an absolute MUST.

You see, when something becomes an absolute MUST to you, it gets
you to operate from a totally different frame of mind. When
something is a MUST, it will become your number one priority and
nothing will ever come in its way until that goal is accomplished.

When something is a MUST, you will do whatever it takes to get it
(within limits of integrity of course)! Even if it means stretching
way beyond your comfort zone and investing time, energy or money,
you will do whatever it takes.

I believe that when you are willing to do whatever it takes to get
something, you will ALWAYS find a way. And if you cannot find a
way, you will make a way.

For example, when George Lucas (millionaire at 28 and creator of
Star Wars) wanted to revolutionize film making by creating the
special effects required for the space battle scenes for Star Wars,
the technology did not exist.

Everybody told him that what he wanted to do couldn't be done.
Instead of accepting the comfort of reality, his total commitment
to making his dream come true was to set up his own company,
Industrial Light and Magic (ILM) to create the special effects
required for his own movie.

You see, when something is a 'must', anything can be achieved. At
the same time, when you make financial fre-edom and security a must
for you and not just a wish, you will achieve it. When something is
a must, our brain gets us to tap our fullest potential to make it
happen.

The trouble is that becoming financially abundant is rarely a must
for most people. It is merely a wish. However, it is always a must
to survive...and that it why most people merely survive.

So once again, to achieve all your financial goals, you have to
make it a must for yourself. How do you make something a 'must'?

The answer is by putting yourself on the line. When you put
yourself in situation where you give yourself no choice BUT to
succeed, you very often will.

If you study the life stories of millionaire history makers, many
of them came to a point in their lives where they put themselves on
the line and staked everything they had.

And because they had NO CHOICE but to succeed, they often did it
against insurmountable odds.

So do whatever it takes, make success and achieving your goals a
MUST and I will guarantee that your wealth will multiply many-fold.

Many people have the perception that the fabulously rich and
powerful are dishonest and unethical.

And who can blame them after hearing stories of how millionaire
executives rip off their shareholders in scandal after scandal on
Wall Street?

Think about Enron, China Aviation Oil, WorldCom, ACCS, REFCO and
the list goes on.

Certainly there are unethical & unscrupulous rich people around
(incidentally, their wealth & businesses rarely last), but the
truth is that most self-made millionaires share a common habit of
personal integrity.

Interestingly, in the best-selling book 'The Millionaire Mind',
author Thomas Stanley interviewed 733 multi-millionaires and asked
them what were the key factors that contributed to their wealth.

Ranked number one was 'being honest with people'. Surprised? This
factor was ranked way ahead of factors like 'making wise
investments', 'working hard' and 'having a competitive spirit'.

What is integrity and why is it so important to long term wealth?

Integrity is about being honest with others and adhering to high
moral standards.

It is also about doing what you say you will do. When you act with
integrity, your customers, colleagues and staff will place their
trust in you.

They know that you mean what you say and that you will not let them
down. They know that you will give them the best quality for their
money and they know that you will not cheat them.

In a world where so many people are unethical and dishonest, build
your reputation on integrity and you will have an endless supply of
customers, suppliers, investors and business partners.

Over the years, I have had many people who have approached me to do
business with them and I have turned most of them down, no matter
how great the opportunities to make money seemed to be.

As a result, many people have asked me what I look for in a
business partner.

My answer is that 'integrity' is above everything else. So, always
act with integrity and you will possess one of the greatest
strengths of all.

It's time to update my blog and this time I would like to continue with Adam Khoo Lecture Series - Millionaire Habit 5: Love What You Do. It's a bit long this time, but it's really worth our time reading it.

Millionaire Habit 5: Love What You Do

The most common question that people ask about getting rich is, ‘What is the best career or business that will make me the most money?’ Should I go into education? Food? Insurance? Network marketing? Heathcare? Options trading? Property? What’s the best industry to be in right now?

Well, you will find that in ANY industry, there will be a minority who will be making plenty of money, while the majority will be struggling to survive. So my answer to that question is that you can become a millionaire in ANY INDUSTRY, only if you are one of the best! If you are not one of the best, you will never become rich in ANY industry.

You CAN become a millionaire in insurance, property, options trading, children’s education, pest-control, retail, food or Internet marketing ONLY when you are one of the best. So, how do you become the best in the market? The answer is by being totally, absolutely one hundred percent committed towards your particular career or business.

All successful individuals have one thing in common. They love what they do. And because they have such an intense passion for their particular career or business, they do not distinguish work from play. Their work is their play and vice versa. As a result, they spend every single day and every waking hour working (to them it’s not work), and that is why they become so good at it that they become market leaders and experts.

Have you ever wondered why Bill Gates, the richest man in the world who is worth US$46 billion still works 18-hour days, every single day? Why doesn’t he just sit back and relax on the beach? The reason is because like all millionaires, what drives him is never really the money per se; it is the love of being at the forefront of technology. It was his obsession of ‘putting a computer in every home running Microsoft software’ that made him the best in the field.

Many people have the belief that millionaires are people who are just naturally more motivated, disciplined and focused. The truth is that when anyone does something he or she loves, the motivation, focus and discipline always comes naturally. If you find that you lack the motivation and discipline to become successful in what you do, the reason is very obvious. It is not your passion!

Think about it. Do you have a natural passion for something? Do you have a hobby? Like playing golf? Looking at beautiful women or men? Computer games? Football? Playing with children? Haven’t you noticed that whenever you are doing what you love, the energy never stops?

It’s like no matter how tired you are, you will always find the energy to do what you love. Well, this is the secret that will lead to your success and wealth! You have to find something you are extremely passionate about and build your career or business around it! When you do, you will find that you will be naturally focused, committed and energized to work at it. When you give your best to whatever you are crazy about, you will become the best!

So start asking yourself…

· ‘What do I love to do’? ‘ What would I do even if I didn’t get paid?’

· ‘If I had all the money in the world, how would I spend my time?’

· ‘Who are people who have made their fortunes around this passion I have?’

I guarantee you that when you start looking for them, you will find no lack of role models you can learn from. Remember, do what you love and you will never work another day in your life!

Delayed Gratification

January 08 has been a really busy month for me. Pressure from my new job has started to kick in, but I am coping fairly well.. Before I realised it, another month has passed from this new year 2008!

For a start, I plan to continue sharing the Millionaire Habit Lecture Series by Adam Khoo, in this blog. If you didn't know who Adam Khoo is, you could browse my blog to find out more about him. Put it simply, I was inspired and amazed by his success story, his journey from a school-drop out to where he is now, a multi-millionaire successful and kind hearted man.

Millionaire Habit 4: Delayed Gratification

What keeps most people from becoming rich is the habit of wanting
instant gratification. Instant gratification is the habit of always
wanting to enjoy now and not having the patience to wait for future
benefits. As a result, these people spend a lot more than they
invest.

By spending on that new car, new widescreen television set or
designer watch they get instant gratification.

When it comes to investing in books, seminars, stocks or insurance
products, they will think twice as they have to wait for future
benefits.

It is precisely for this reason that whatever money comes into
their hands will soon be frittered away and not multiplied.

People who want instant gratification will always look for quick
and easy ways of making money rather than building a sustainable
business that adds value to (repeat) customers.

They tend to cut corners on quality and deliver shoddy products to
save money and boost short term profits. As a result, their profits
rarely last and they will soon go out of business.

At the same time, those who desire instant gratification lack the
patience to allow their money to grow and compound through
investing.

When they don't see huge sums of money in a few weeks, they abandon
their investments and never get to reap the benefits. They have no
patience to wait for the seeds they sow to grow into huge money
trees that bear fruit.

On the other hand, all millionaires adopt the habit of 'delayed
gratification.' They have the patience to wait for greater
abundance in the future.

Whether in business or in investments, you must have delayed
gratification in order to create massive wealth.

People with delayed gratification invest a lot more than they
spend. Again, they know that by spending a dollar, they may feel
good for an instant, but their future wealth will be destroyed.

When it comes to spending money, they are extremely frugal. However
when it comes to investing, they do not think twice about writing a
check for a few thousands dollars. They know that through patience,
that money will multiply into a future fortune.

Millionaires never take shortcuts in business. They look at always
giving the best value to their customers, even if it means earning
less at present. They know that by building their reputation, it
will lead to huge profit streams in the future.

So, develop the habit of delayed gratification - and spend wisely -
and you will see your money multiply.

Wealth habit number three is the habit of taking responsibility for
your results and wealth!

Unfortunately most people choose to adopt the victim's mindset of
giving excuses, blaming and complaining.

Remember when you give excuses to yourself (i.e. no time, no luck,
no capital, no ex-perience etc...) or blame others for your lack of
wealth, then you are putting others and external events in control
of your life!

When you are not in control, you do not have the power to change
your circumstances.

Instead, millionaires take 100% responsibility for their wealth.
They believe that they alone create their wealth through their
strategies and actions.

As a result, they know that they have the power to change their
wealth by changing their strategies and actions.

It is only when you live by this habit will you have the
power to exponentially multiply your in-come and wealth.

Be Proactive

It's time to update my blog and I shall continue with the Adam Khoo Lecture Series: The Millionaire Habits.

Millionaire Habit 2: Be Proactive

In my live Wealth Academy seminars, I usually do an exercise where
I get people to stand up, go to as many people as they can and
introduce themselves.

From this simple activity, I can tell immediately if they exhibit
this very important wealth habit.

I notice that there will always be some people who will go around
introducing themselves first and getting to know as many people as
they can.

These people exhibit the pattern of being proactive. People who are
proactive are people who take the initiative to make things happen.

When there are no opportunities, proactive people are those that go
out and find opportunities. If they cannot find any, they will
create their own opportunities. When problems get in their way,
proactive people will take action to solve their own problems!

On the other hand, there would always be an even larger number of
people who will just stand around and wait for others to come and
shake their hand.

These people exhibit the reactive mindset. People with the reactive
mindset have the habit of waiting for things to happen to them.
They tend to act only in reaction to others' actions.

As a result, they have a lot less control and choices over results
that affect them. When no opportunities present themselves,
reactive people just sit and wait for the opportunities to come to
them.

They are characteristic of people who complain about everything
that is happening around them and hope that something will change.
When reactive people face problems, they will just wait for others
to come and solve their problem.

When the Asian currency crisis hit Singapore in 1997, many
companies saw their sales and profits plummet. Many business owners
were reactive and just sat tight and prayed for the bad times to
pass.

Instead, Ron Sim, CEO of Osim International (a company that
develops luxury massage chairs) took the proactive action of
entering new markets like Hong Kong and Taiwan.

As a result, his company profits were not only unaffected by the
crisis but they continued to increase.

When the Asian economies recovered, over 60% of Osim's business
came from outside their home country of Singapore, leading to even
higher earnings growth of over 30%!

By having the proactive mindset, you put yourself in the position
of power and choice. You are in command and will take action that
leads to wealth and success.

However, when you act in a reactive pattern, you will find that
your finances will never be within your control.

Oh dear, almost one month has passed since the last time I wrote something here in my blog! Honestly speaking, I have been disengaged from Internet Marketing for quite some times by now. Anyway, I should do something about it, at least to the very least.. I can paste some good articles which I think worth sharing in my blog. Like the Adam Khoo Lecture Series: Millionaire Habit! I am sure most of you may have known or read it. Nevertheless, I will share it here anyway. So you want to be a millionaire? Study all these millionaire habits!

Millionaire Habit 1: Always Exceed Expectations

Those people who always exceed expectations are known as Value
creators and they end up as the rich and wealthy of our society. If
they are paid $3,000, they will work as if they are being paid
$20,000.

If they are expected to generate $10,000 worth of profits, they
will create $30,000 worth of value! They are called value creators
because they create value for companies.

It is through their efforts, that the company makes more and more
profits every year. As a result, their income is not considered an
expense to the company, but a great investment.

Even in periods of downturns, when everyone else is getting
retrenched and pay cuts, they get pay increases, bonuses and stock
options.

The company knows that for every dollar they invest in them, they
will return triple the value. These people are the high flyers who
get promoted super fast and get their incomes doubling and tripling
in a few years.

In the past, income was based mainly on seniority and loyalty. The
longer you stayed, the more you were valued. In today's world,
income is based entirely on the amount of value you can create.

It is not uncommon to see people who are much younger, with a lot
less experience directing businesses and earning lots more than
senior workers who have been with the company a lot longer.

Value creators are indispensable assets to their company! They are
very hard to replace. And that is why companies will pay them more
and more and offer them partnerships to retain them.

Value creators are never out of a good job. They are usually head
hunted by other companies all the time, the head hunters offering
to double their income if they join them.

This habit does not just apply to employees, it applies to anyone
from sports stars to business owners.

When Michael Jordan was interviewed and asked how he became the
world's greatest basketball player, he replied, "I expect more from
myself than anyone would ever expect from me!"

When my coach expects me to train three times a week, I would train
five times. When my coach expects me to score 15 points for each
game, I would score 36 points! That is why I am the best in the
world".

Do more than anyone expects of you and you will find the river of
success flow like an never-rending stream into your life. Cultivate
this habit now and you will start to see results immediately.

There are lots and lots of advertisements about people want to invite you to come to their seminar to teach you how you can make money.. how you can make more money.. how you can grow your money.. and things like that.

All of them try to convince you one thing:
The potential of making MONEY in a fast way!

So let's stop one second.
Just imagine that suppose you have ALL the money in the world.

What would you do?

Recently I receive an email titled "Take This Quiz". I almost thicked to delete the email but then I thought.. "let see and what the quiz is all about". Back From Holiday and First Day of New Job

Hello Guys!

It's been soooo longgg since my last entry in this blog. I really thank you and apologize to some of you, which I can monitor, who frequently visit my blog but found no updates.

Well, as I mentioned in my previous entry, I have gone for holidays for about 10 days to my hometown, Jakarta - Indonesia. Basically really enjoying my time over there and didnt really touch internet until tonight. Pardon me for late replying your comments or emails.

Today I have just started my new job as a Geotechnical Engineer (finally) in the world leader offshore company! As I was very much excited about it, I couldnt really sleep the nite before. I have to get up very early in the morning as the company bus will arrive at the pick up point near my place at about 630am in the morning.

Thank God everything went smoothly today. Have my orientation in the morning, followed by lunch and got myself welcomed and introduced to the friendly office mates. Plenty of reading materials followed after that to keep myself busy for the rest of the day. Good thing about joining this company is (other than the big bonuses), I have the opportunity to learn a lot of new things and I really love it!

One BIG challenge is, I really have to get myself used to the new life style. Firstly, I have to work five and a half days, 730 to 1630 for Mon-Fri and 730 to 1130 for Sat. Secondly, I will have a very limited Internet Access. Let just say, I may not be able to check my email "every now and then - anytime I want to" like I used to before. But I will put conscious effort to at least update this blog every once a week, be it for my personal journal or for my personal learning in how to make money online! :D

3 Things You Need To Succeed in Life

I know I have not been blogging for quite sometimes by now. No Excuse for this. But I guess honestly, the main reason is the "honeymoon" period in my quest of learning how to make money online has probably ended.

I have to admit it is not easy to stay focus or keep the initial desire burning. There were times when I stayed up late just to learn how to attach an image embedded with weblink, or to learn how to fine-tuned my blog templates and stuff like that. Altough I have no idea what HTML is all about but the desire to beautify my blog and the potential of making money out of it, has forced me to learn it in the past.

Right now, I am just looking forward to have my holidays soon. My current job contract will be ending this 13 September. My new job will starts on 24 September. So I will be going back to Jakarta to have my long waited holidays, in between those dates. Yes, I'm going to meet my parents and my girlfriend again!! Cant wait to see them again.

This morning as I checked on my email, I received an email from Adam Khoo in which he shared about 3 things we need in order for us to succeed in life. I guess most of us might have known it and heared it many times. Goal, Focus, Confidence, etc etc. Some of us might even start to get bored or lost faith, hearing those fancy stuff from other people and yet failed to practice it in our daily life.

Well, I guess it is a reminder for myself that I have to stay focus on my goal. I have to keep that flames burning. I have to practice what I preached here in my blog. So I think, it will be worth mentioning here in my blog and I will share it with all of you what Adam Khoo has shared in the email to me. I really believe if we applied it, we will be on the right track! :)

So here it goes,

3 Things You Need To Succeed in Life - by Adam Khoo

#1. GOALS
You have to set GOALS. Yes, many of us set goals, BUT most people don't ever do them the RIGHT way and that's why most people are just setting yourself up for failure right from the very beginning!

You need to set goals because you have to know exactly where you want your life to head. And only when you have a destination in mind, only then can you draw the map to get to where YOU want to go.

So set your goals immediately OR life will just take you anywhere it wants - which is nowhere!

#2. FOCUS
Once you have your goals, you need to FOCUS on your goals and nothing else. What use is there of setting goals and then not focusing on them?

It's like saying you want to get top marks in a school exam, but then all you do is just play football. You're never going to ace the exam that way!

You need to focus. Concentrate on your goal! Make sure it drives you and motivates you, so that almost every waking hour of your day is all about moving closer to your goal, step by step. I can't emphasize this enough, but you MUST focus, focus, focus!

#3. CONFIDENCE
And lastly, you need CONFIDENCE. Supreme self-confidence in yourself that you can achieve your goal.

You need to believe in every fibre of your body that your goals is achieveble, that YOU deserve your goal and that it is going to manifest in your reality. If you don't believe you can do it, then you'll never do it. Just like Henry Ford said -"Whether you believe you can or you can't, either way you are right."

You must have the self-confidence that you CAN achieve your goals, or else it's never going to happen.

I believe that these 3 elements are CRUCIAL to your success. They all play a integral role in you achieving YOUR goals. Lose any one of these 3 elements and it's almost impossible to succeed in life. But harness the power of these 3 things, and I guarantee that you will blast your way to success in no time.I did it for myself. And it works. Isn't time you did the same for yourself as well?

Finally I Got A New Job !!

Dear all of my friends,

Just a short update!

As some of you may have known, I was looking for a new job as my current job contract is ending soon this coming September. Well, I am very happy to tell you that I finally got my self a new job! I will be working as an engineer in a company that is known as the largest offshore and marine groups in the world! This company is the world leading designer and builder of jackups, having built the most number of jackups on order in the last decade.

Honestly, I am truly grateful to be given the opportunity to work with them. The feeling is just simply beyond words. I am so eager to learn and absorb as much knowledge as possible in the offshore industry.

I am thankful to God too. He has been so good.. There were times when I felt really down and life was so miserable and all that.. There were times when I always asked God, "Why". Going through such difficult times iss not easy. I thank God that He did not let me give up. He always gives me strength to endure and carry on. Looking back now, I know that God was actually preparing me and moulding me to be a better person.

Well, now, back to Internet Marketing. A ha! To be frank with you, I am lagging a lot of it now. The reason is I really want to focus on my job hunting, first. Now that I got a new job, I will try to catch up, learn and share more on what I have learned in this blog!

How Do I Stop My Negative Thoughts ?

Hi Friends,

I'm sorry that I have not updated my blog for the past few days. Well, my current job contract as Project Officer in Nanyang Technological University will be ending soon this coming September. Hence, lately I've been busy looking for job and on top of that I am still busy doing soil testing in the laboratory.

Since the first time I sent my CV, actually the response was indeed very good. I got my first invitation for 1st interview a week after I sent my CV. The following week after my 1st interview, I received another call inviting me for another interview. Right now, I am waiting for the outcome. Well, honestly, the feeling is like roller coaster. Low, as I waited for good news. High, as I received the invitation. Low, as I was required to wait again. And high again.. and low again.. and so on. I would be lying if I tell you that I am not worry. I know that I shouldnt.

Eight Facts About Julianto Cahyadi:

1. I really like to play Chess. International Chess, that is. I learned how to play chess when I was 6-7 year-old. I spent more times playing chess then studying, hence my parent concerned about it. So one day, they banned me from playing chess!! Throw away my chess set. But I sneaked out to dig my chess set from the dustbin! Recently I like to play chess online from Yahoo Games. My nickname is julianto80. Spot me there! :)

2. Talking about being banned, I was once banned from Google AdSense!! Being so excited about AdSense like a small kid with his new toy, I did click the ads from my own blog, trying to out-smart Google, thinking that Google will not be able to detect it. How foolish that is. Google disabled my account after that. I learned my lesson and I was crushed. However, I managed to persist and find ways how to put back the Google AdSense in my blog. Since that experience, I swear I will never click my own ads again. (This is suppose to be top secrets!)

3. I always admire beautiful bridges and buildings all around the world. That's why I chose to study Civil Engineering. I got my bachelor degree from Nanyang Technological University in 2002 and have been working as a researcher in NTU ever since my graduation. My main research topic cover the behaviour of soils. I believe in order for us to build anything in our life, we need to understand and build the foundation first. For building, understanding the behaviour of soils is the utmost important thing to make strong foundations.

4. I am currently looking for new job! My current contract will be ending soon this September! Good thing that the civil industry is booming now in Singapore. It is about time for me to do more practical works and apply my research knowledge to the industry. I am so excited about it!

5. I really like my food to be spicy and hot! Having spent more than 9 years in Singapore, I really miss some of my favorite foods in my home town, Jakarta. My most favorite gourmet that I cannot afford to miss everytime I go back to Jakarta is "Kepiting Saus Padang" (they called it Chilli Crab, here in Singapore, but totally diferent taste).

6. I really aspire that one day I will taste my own financial freedom. I believe it is not something by chance that I received a book from Merry Riana, which then lead me to learn from people like Adam Khoo, Adam Wong, Stuart Tan, Ewen Chia, Derek Gehl, Joel Comm, Rosalind Gardner and many others. I am also happy to know that I met a lot of new friends from this blogging world :) and we learn and support each other too!

7. Apart from chess, I also enjoy playing some sports such as badminton, floorball, soccer, hockey, etc. I used to be very active in many of the sport activities during my undergraduate times in NTU! So many things yet so little time. Currently I prioritize on learning how to make money online as my number one hobby! :)

8. Last but not least, I have been in a long distance relationship with my girlfriend for almost 4 years now. I am in Singapore and my girlfriend is in Jakarta. Honestly, long distance relationship has never been easy. Thank God for our relationship! Maybe one day I shall write one blog about relationship, romance and stuff like that :D

3 Questions You Should Ask Yourself

I am aware that, one of the big No No for a blogger is to never update your blog by more than a few days or so. Though it may seem easy, but dont you agree with me that there are times when we just dont have any idea on what to write? Feeling overloaded and distracted due to other things that happened during your daily life?

Yes, I experienced that last week. So I decided to take a break and take a good rest over the weekend. Rented some good movies like Facing The Giant and The Pursuit of Happyness. Get myself into the more positive state and decided to write this post today!

In my quest of learning how to make money online, I noticed that there is a big tendency for the beginner/ newbie to get overwhelmed and overloaded, dont know where to start, what to read, who to follow and things like that. Have you encountered such experience before? Believe you, me. I have encountered such feeling before.

But i have learned that the best thing for us to do is to not let those things prevent us from taking action! Your action can be as simple as reading one chapter per day, one step per day, or one e-Book per week, etc etc.. Remember that we dont have to know everything at this instant moment. You would be easily discouraged if you want to learn everything that you need to learn at this instant moment. Have you experienced that before?

So I am going to share with you, 3 things that you should ask yourself today, that I believe is extremely important if you want to achieve (at least) something in your life.

1. Do you have the desire to keep learning?
Are you willing to learn new thing? Are you willing to endure the learning process? Most people want to have a lot of money. Most people want to be successful in their life. But the question is, are you willing to get out of your comfort zone? Are you willing to pay the price? Sleep 2-3 hours less? Or are you just simply lazy and hoping that someone will do it for you or money will just drop in front of your door step from the sky above? From my observation, people are simply lazy by nature. I have noticed that those who willing to learn and willing to pay the price are the one who become successful in their life. So, do you have the desire to keep learning?

2. Do you have the determination to carry on?
So say that you are willing to learn. That's good! In fact, some people are just close minded and are not willing to learn new things. Let me congratulate you if you have the willingness to learn and to get out of your comfort zone. But that itself may not be sufficient. You need to have the determination to carry on, to hold on and not to give up. It is always easy to feel good during good times. But we just have to admit that life is not always full of roses. The question is, when bad things happen in our life, how would you react? Do you stop and easily give up? Or are you determined enough to go on, to strive on, to carry on?

3. Do you have a clear vision on WHY you are doing what you are doing now?
To me, this is by far the most important question that we have to ask ourselves. Honestly, if you want to be rich, why? If you want to have a lot of money, why? If you need to learn certain things, why? If you need to work hard, why? When we understand why we need to do certain things, why we have to sacrifice our comfort, why we have to put so much efforts.. When we have a clear vision about our dreams... not only it helps us to keep walking, but I believe it will also gives us the strength to rise and carry on when we fall. So, again, do you have a clear vision on WHY you are doing what you are doing now? What is your personal goal? WHY you want to achieve that goal?

There you have it. The 3 questions you should ask yourself, today. They come for my personal reflections so far in my quest here. Tell me what you think. Do you agree with me?

Make Money Online With A 13-Year Old

Continuing on my previous post, "Make Money Online? Just Do It!", I will share with you what I have learned today about making money online.

As I mentioned before, you can learn how to make money online for FREE by just entering word phrases like "make money online" into Google Search. So I thought, why not share with you something that I've learned by doing that.

I entered "make money online" into Google Search. Waited for split seconds. Glanced through the results and one particular blog captured my attention! Standing at 8th position (as of today) in the first page of the results, I read, "Make Money Online with a 13 Year-Old". So I clicked on that and it referred me to www.carlocab.com.

Just imagine for a moment... A 13-year old boy is making money online on the Internet just by blogging alone. Can you imagine that? I mean, a 13-year old boy!! If a 13-year old boy could learn how to make money online (and is really making money online!), what are the chances for you and me to do the same?! Of course very high! But only if you believe so.

Oh by the way, his name is Carl from Philippines and he's just turned 14 this year. Because I like the way he designed his blog, so I continued to browse through his blog and spot top three posts that I would like to share it with you here.

Make Money Online? Just Do It!

When I first started blogging here in blogspot, I was not quite sure on what I should use as the title of the blog and how to describe it. Should I use "make money online with.." or "make money from blogging.." or things like that. After I did a simple research on Google, I was surprised to find out there are millions websites/ blogs using the "make money online.." as their blog title. So I decided to simply just use my name instead. Hecks.. this is my blog anyway, so I said.

Even then, I still have to describe my blog. If you didnt already know, the first description of my blog was: "and his quest in searching the facts about making money on the internet". It was OK in the beginning but I was not satisified with it.

The second description was: "and his quest in making money on the internet". Again I was still not pleased with the description. I mean, I am not making BIG money yet.. so I decided to change the description again. Finally I decided to use "and his quest in learning how to make money on the Internet". And that's it! I like it! Why? Because that's basically why this blog was created in the first place. I want to LEARN how to make money online. So that's a short history about my blog :)

In my journey learning how to make money online, I am pleased that I came to know a lot of people and learn a lot from them! From them, I learned that the best way of learning is to start applying what you have learned. I have to agree with that! If you would really like to learn how to make money online... you just have to do it to learn it! I mean, it is not something like a test or exam where you have the time to prepare yourself, to study the text book, memorize some concepts and then sit for the exam. It doesnt work that way.

In fact, I knew that in order for me to speed up my learning process, I just have to do it! The Nike ads always says, "Just Do It". Yes, you just have to do it. Apply what you have learned and earn while you learn. Little by Little. Step by step. Day by day. Dollar by dollar. The important thing is, you have to keep learning new things every day to make the constant growth. And Just Do It!

I have to admit it may not be easy when you first started. It's not easy for me either. Have you ever felt that you were overloaded by informations? I experienced that too and occasionally I still feel that way. Well now I realized that I dont have to exactly learn from every Gurus out there claiming to be millionaire from Internet. I dont have to follow everyone in this business. I just have to FOCUS on a few people.

My advice to you is to keep it with no more than 5 "Gurus" as a start. The best is if you can get 1 person to model. You can choose to learn from, let say Ewen Chia, or Derek Gehl, or Adam Khoo or whoever you think you would want to model. Stick with that person. Follow their advice. And model their strategy. Believe me, you will learn faster this way.

I can understand that sometimes when we want to learn from those Gurus, we have to make some investment like buying their products and e-Books and stuff like that. Well, if you couldn't afford it or if you had a limited budget, dont be weary. The fact is, you can still learn how to make money online for FREE! Well, not exactlty free as you have to pay for your internet connection :)

If you want to learn it for free, then this is what you have to do. Go to www.google.com. Search the phrase "make money online". At the time of this writing, there are 281,000,000 websites as a results of that phrase alone. Well, relax. You dont have to browse every single one of them. Click some website in the first few results. Glance through them and "feel" them. If you dont like it, then move on. If you like it, then stick with it. Chances are you will find some good blogs or websites that offer you really good content and information that you need, for FREE!!

After you make your decisions, bookmark those websites or add to your favorite list in your browser. Visit the websites daily. Apply what you have learned from them. Start blogging, write down what you have learned. Sooner or later, you will be amazed on the progress you would make a long the way.

Well, I am still learning each and every day. The above sharing is based on my experience so far. Tell me what you guys think. Do you agree with me?

My Template and Hacks Revealed!

First of all I would really like to thank you all for the kind words and supports that you have shown to me from many of your comments here in my blog. I'm indeed flattered by the compliments.

When I first started this blog from blogger.com, I was quite amazed that blogger.com does not provide any 3 columns template at all. Some people prefer 2 columns and some prefer 3 columns for their blog. Personally, I prefer a 3 columns template as it allows me to put more things and organize them better.

I got a question recently from one of my reader, Shawn, asking me where did I get my blog template from. I am glad he asked this. This only means that there are people out there who visit my blog and like the way I organize things inside my blog. So to help Shawn, I decided to make this post! :)

1. My Template
If you observed it carefully, you would probably have noticed that my blog template is actually designed by Elque (2007) as it is stated at the very bottom of my blog. You can click on that and the link will bring you to his blog. You can find many templates over there and the best part is you can download it for free! If you wanted to know which template I downloaded for this blog, you can download it here, Blogger Template: KleenGreen. That's my template, revealed! :)

After downloaded the template, I was still not happy with certain things in the template initially. So I decided to tweak the template here and there throughout the first month of my blogging experience. I did some research in google for any tips/ tricks/ hacks that I can implement in my blog. The first "tips and tricks blog" that I came across was this blog: Blogger Tips and Tricks. The reason for that being the first was because it was ranked number 1 in Google for that particular keywords.

And boy, I did come to the right place! The owner of this blog, Peter Chen is really doing a great job on sharing his tips and tricks about hacking your blog template and stuff like that. If you are new to blogging, you would probably want to check out his blog! In fact, I become one of his daily visitor to check out his new tips and tricks.

2. My Hacks

a. Expandible Post Summary Hack
One of the hacks that I implement in this blog, as you may have noticed is the "Expandible Post Summary" hacks. Quoting what Peter Chen wrote in his blog, Expandible Post Summary is "the term applied to blog posts where only short snatches (usually the first few paragraphs or sentences) are displayed with a link at the bottom that may say, usually, "Read More..." which if a reader is interested and when clicked, takes the reader to the full post. Expandable post summary is useful if you have the habit of writing long posts."

b. Comment Hack
The second great hack that I implement in my blog is the comment hack. If you have ever clicked to any of my individual post or let say you click "Read more..." to continue reading my post, then you would have probably also noticed that my comment form is different from any other common blogspot blog. I like this hack as I think it gives the convenient to my reader to post their comments directly under my post, without having the need to post it in a new window.

c. AdSense Inside The Post Hack
Being a new publisher of Google AdSense myself, I really like to do some experiment on where should I displayed my AdSense. One of the most hot topic about AdSense placement is to put your AdSense inside the post. So I thought that I should give it a try. It was also from Blogger Tips and Tricks that I learned about this trick. You can find how to do it here: Incorporate AdSense In Your New Blogger Blog Post. d. Conditional Tags Hack
I must say that this is one of the great hack that I bet you would like to implement it in your blog. The concept is quite simple. It allows you to display your AdSense in the item page of the individual post. As you can see in my blog, you will only see my AdSense inside a post in its individual post page and not in the main page of my blog. The reasons why I did this, were firstly because I want to give this hack a try and secondly, I am still doing some experiment on where should I put my AdSense.

Learning From Ewen Chia (2)

Hi Friends,

I have just come back from attending my first Ewen Chia's seminar. As expected, the seminar room was fully packed and crowded. I was so excited about it as this was my first time meeting Ewen Chia in person. If you do not know who is Ewen Chia, then you should read my previous post: Learning From Ewen Chia.

At the end of the seminar, I managed to talk to him and asked him whether I can take a photo with him. He gladly said yes! After that, I told him that I have been blogging recently and have written something about him. I asked him whether he is interested to visit my blog, and to my amazement, he asked what my blog address and even asked me to write it down on a piece of paper! I am really happy to know that Ewen Chia is very approachable and down to earth person.

I would say, if you want to learn a simple and systematic step by step approach about Internet Marketing, then you MUST learn it from Ewen Chia. Other Internet Marketer Gurus may teach you practical theories about Internet Marketing but no one has ever done it as simple as Ewen put it! To quote what Ewen said, "even dummies can do it!". His approach is always like: "Step 1 do this, Step 2 do that" kind of thing.

According to Ewen, in order to be successful in Internet Marketing, we should be FOCUS and should NOT over-complicate things. In fact, I have learned from Ewen that making money online does not require you to be equipped with all the technical knowledge and stuff like that. The fact is, a simple step by step SYSTEM that works, will just do the magic in making money online on the Internet.

In this post, I will highlight the main points that Ewen shared during the seminar. Ewen explained that there are 3 basic steps in order to start an Instant Internet Business System. They are as follow:

Step #1: MARKET
Step #2: OFFER
Step #3: TRAFFIC

Step #1: Why You Need A Market
a. You can't have a business without a market.
b. You can't be all things to everyone.
c. Pick a market you have a passion for.
d. Focus on one market and become an expert on that.

Ewen emphasized that the secret to success is to focus and specialize in one market first, after that we can then move on to the next market. One by one. Do you know that the easiest way to find HOT profitable markets instantly can be found from the Internet itself?! The secret is to make use of multi-million dollar companies' market research such as http://www.ebay.com/and http://www.magazines.com/.

Step #2: Why You Need An Offer
a. You can't make money without an offer.
b. Provide people with what they want.
c. Provide offer fast and without work.
d. Use other people's products and services.

The last item is called Affiliate Marketing. It is basically a proven business model where you can join a merchant's affiliate program and make a commission or referral fee off the merchant's products.

In my opinion, this type of marketing is by far the simplest way of doing business. Why? Because you don't have to come out with your own product! You can just recommend good products to everyone and earn a commission every time people buy that product! And it is always easier to recommend rather than to create a new product from scratch.

If you don't already know, we can actually find tons of targeted affiliate programs on http://www.google.com/ or http://www.clickbank.com/ that you can just join for free! For me personally, I will always ensure that I have bought and tested or at least know the quality of the product before I recommend it.

So far, I personally recommend people to buy Insider Secrets by Derek Gehl, Secrets of Self Made Millionaire by Adam Khoo, Master Your Mind Design Your Destiny by Adam Khoo & Stuart Tan and Newbie Cash Machine by Ewen Chia. These are my personal recommendations to all of you!

Step #3: How To Get Instant Traffic!
a. Importance of traffic quality vs quantity
b. Be consistent in your marketing
c. Become good at a few primary strategies
c. All you need to do is to focus on driving traffic.

The easiest way to get quality traffic NOW is to go where people are already looking for solutions and information! Places such as http://www.forumfind.com/ and http://www.answers.yahoo.com/ are examples of instant traffic strategies that you can use immediately for free!

Summary
Step #1: MARKET; Find a hot and profitable market looking for information
Step #2: OFFER; Present and offer informational solutions to this market
Step #3: TRAFFIC; Focus on driving targeted traffic to your offer!

That's it. There you have it. I have just summarized the 3 basic steps that Ewen Chia shared to his audience during the seminar. Of course I can go on and on.. but I think I have shared long enough... :)

Why are you writing this blog?
This blog was created as a platform for me to share and to write whatever things I know about Internet Marketing.

From where or who do you get your inspirations?
I first learned about Internet Marketing from Adam Khoo. Adam Khoo's story has really inspired me to do all this. Then I heard about Adam Wong, one of Adam Khoo's student. I learned a lot from reading his blog too. In fact, you can see that the way I designed my blog is similar like Adam Wong's blog. After Adam Wong, I came to know about Stuart Tan, Ewen Chia, Derek Gehl, Joel Comm and many other great Internet Marketer.

So have you made some money online on the Internet?
Well, I have just started about a month ago. In fact I am still a newbie myself. I have so much to learn. Have I made some money? Well, I guess my online earning at the time of this writing could buy me a chicken rice and a coke. Enough for a dinner :-)

My name is Julianto Cahyadi. Most of my friends call me Julianto or "Jul".

I was born in Jakarta, Indonesia, about 27 yrs ago. I grew up there in Jakarta. When I was a kid, I really like to play chess. I admired people like Gary Kasparov and had a dream that one day I could be like him.

After I have finished my high school in 1998, I had the opportunity to come to Singapore to continue my study in Nanyang Technological University. I took Civil Engineering as my course of study, as I always admire beautiful bridges all around the world. So since then, I have been living in Singapore.

I love Singapore. Good government. Clean. Safe. Well organized. Good transportation systems. Good infrastructures. All the people lives in harmony and no major discrimination as in my own country, Indonesia. If you are not from Singapore, you should give Singapore a visit. I bet you will like it here.

The only setback about Singapore I guess would be the expensive housing and car prices. Majority of the Singaporean would be working for the rest of their lives or up to 30 yrs to pay for their house or car loans. In fact, living in Singapore could be very tough and challenging.

After spending one third of my life here in Singapore, I started to fall in love with this country. As such, I am planning to settle down here in Singapore. However, the thought of living with so many loans has forced me to think of other solutions that could lead me to a better way of living in Singapore.

Last year, I came to learn about one book authored by Singaporean, Adam Khoo, "Secrets of Self Made Millionaire". Well, this book and his another book, "Master Your Mind Design Your Destiny" really opened my eyes and really inspired me to take charge of my own life. I personally recommend you to buy and read that books.

After reading Adam Khoo's book, I desire to learn how one can create multiple streams of income. This blog is a fruit of that desire. I created this blog as a platform for me to write down what I have learned and share it with many of you who are still wondering how we can really make money online from the Internet.

One of my big goal is to know how to make money online and master all the necessary knowledge in order to excel and profit from Internet Business by end of 2007. With so many people have enjoyed the benefit of making money online, I believe anyone can achieve that and succeed as long as we have an open mind and a willingness to learn as well as a positive attitude.

"Internet Marketing Bible" and Goal Setting

Derek Gehl also teach me another thing about Goal Setting which I think is good and I would like to share it with all of you here. Derek told me to set a definite Goal, a realistic and measurable one. Put numbers and the time frame. When you have put down your goal in your mind or when you have written it down on a piece of paper, now ask your self, "how long do you want to achieve that goal?" Is it 3 years? 5 years?

If you decided to spend about 10 hrs per week to achieve your goal then probably it may take longer say 5 yrs.. If you decided to spend 20-30 hrs per week.. then you can achieve it within 3 yrs! He continued to explain that in order for us to stop procrastinating and start taking action, we actually have to break that long term goal into many small goals within shorter time frames.

Ask your self, what are the things that you must do within the first year, in order to achieve the 3 or 5 yrs goal. These are the things that you must achieve before you can achieve your BIG goal. After that, you must continue to list down what are the things that you must acomplish within the first 6 months then break it down to the first 3 months and again break it down to the first months. So now instead of a 5 years long term goal, you basically break it down to smallers goals within shorter time frames.

I thought Derek is going to stop breaking it down up to the monthly goal. I was wrong! In fact, Derek challenges us to even continue breaking it down up to the weekly goal. What are the things that you need to by end of this week so that you can achieve your monthly goal. When it comes to weekly goal, it will just make sense if you list down what are the things that you have to do today, tomorrow, the day after and so on until it reaches the end of the week, end of the month, 3 months, 1st half, 1st year and so on.

Wow, so.. from the 3 or 5 yrs long term goal, you basically have to start doing it day by day and a daily goal is a must if you want to make your 3 or 5 yrs goal a reality. This is something that I never think of before, honestly. You just dont have time to procrastinate!! You have to start taking action day by day, week by week, and so on in order for you to achieve whatever goal you have in your mind right now.

I find what Derek shared to me is very encouraging and eye opening for me. Not that I dont know that I have to take action. Of course I know. Success is about getting things done, quoting from Ewen Chia. But sometimes, depending on my mood, I have a tendency to procrastinate... What Derek shared to me, in fact reminds me that there is basically no room for procrastination! Every morning when you get up, ask yourself, what must you do today that will keep you in the right track to achieve your goal? What is it that has to be done at the end of the day? That challenges me deeply.

3 Ways of Learning How to Make Money Online

In my opinion, there are at least three ways of learning how to make money online:

1. Learning it from the Internet itself.
Obviously, since we can learn almost everything from Google, we can also learn how to make money from Google. In fact, if you google the words "make money online", Google will give you tons of information for free! If you are not sure where to start, I suggest you to start blogging (like I did). Go to blogger.com and follow the simple steps in getting a blog in 5 minutes or less. Being frugal, I indeed considered this option at first and have been doing it ever since this blog was created. The setback of this method is, it is time consuming. You may feel confused and overwhelmed by too much informations.

2. Learning it from Internet Marketing Academy.
I shared about Internet Marketing Academy in my previous post. It is conducted in Singapore. The whole duration would be about 3 months. You will have Stuart Tan as your personal coach. You will learn A to Z of Internet Marketing in a classroom manner of no more than about 30 persons. The cost, is a premium, though. I was really eager to secure my seat in this IMA, but unfortunately I have a budget constraint. Nevertheless, if you dont have a budget constraint, I highly recommend you to join IMA. You can turn yourself from a complete beginner to a complete pro and making real money online.

5 Advices I Received After The Announcement

Ever since my last posting about putting myself on the line, I have received some supports and advices from the people I know and dont know. Many of them came from the forum I currently join. It's an Internet Marketing Singapore forum, currently the biggest in Asia. I have also received an email asking me to teach him/her how to make money online.. which is interesting to see how people responded to that post.

Being only less than a month exposing myself to the blogging world, I know that my goal seems to be unrealistic to some of you. You must be thinking, "This kid is joking". Or perhaps, to some of you, it may be inspiring?! It gives you the excitement or the adrenalin rush that made me put myself on the line.

Whatever that is, I know that my goal is too general, too broad, too wide. I realised that. To be honest with you, I normally dont go broadcasting telling people about my goal is. I normally write it down in my mind, in my mental state, or simply in the paper. Writing it down in the paper, is really a good habit. The fact that I did make such an announcement is really mind-blowing to myself. And once I made such an announcement, it really means No Joke. I have to burn the ship behind my back.

There are few good advices that have been passed to me and I would like to share it with you, here. Here they are:

1. Be more specific. Write down the specific monetary amount within the time frame.
2. Write it down in a piece of BIG paper and put it somewhere where you can see it everyday. (Some refer this to "Dream Board")
3. Keep your focus, take action and persistent.
4. Commit some budget and time to invest.
5. Create a master plan: how to begin, how to generate wealth, what should be done, and how do you know that you have arrived at your goal and what to do if you fail.

I personally believe, the classic still stands, "When there is a will, there is a way".

I Am Putting Myself ON THE LINE!

Reasons Not To Mess With Children

Well, recently I have to admit that I was not in the mood of blogging. I think is better not to blog anything while we are unsure of what we want to write. Until a minute ago!

I have just received an email from my good friend, Soerya. Now one thing I really like about him is that he is very easy going person and damn, he is very humorous. I was in the middle of writing my dissertation (I hate it) but yet I decided to take a look at the email that he sent to me. The subject title was "Joke". Expected. Then I read what's inside the email.

And you know what? It's just a great compilation of short funny jokes which able to suddenly change my mood! Enough said, here are the jokes, enjoy it !! :)

Reasons Not To Mess With Children

A little girl was talking to her teacher about whales. The teacher said it was physically impossible for a whale to swallow a human because even though it was a very large mammal its throat was very small. The little girl stated that Jonah was swallowed by a whale. Irritated, the teacher reiterated that a whale could not swallow a human; it was physically impossible.The little girl said, "When I get to heaven I will ask Jonah". The teacher asked, "What if Jonah went to hell?" The little girl replied, "Then you ask him ".

A Kindergarten teacher was observing her classroom of children while they were drawing. She would occasionally walk around to see each child's work. As she got to one little girl who was working diligently, she asked what the drawing was. The girl replied, "I'm drawing God." The teacher paused and said, "But no one knows what God looks like." Without missing a beat, or looking up from her drawing, the girl replied, "They will in a minute."

One day a little girl was sitting and watching her mother do the dishes at the kitchen sink. She suddenly noticed that her mother had several strands of white hair sticking out in contrast on her brunette head. She looked at her mother and inquisitively asked, "Why are some of your hairs white, Mom?" Her mother replied, "Well, every time that you do something wrong and make me cry or unhappy, one of my hairs turns white." The little girl thought about this revelation for a while and then said, "Momma, how come ALL of grandma's hairs are white?"

The children had all been photographed, and the teacher was trying to persuade them each to buy a copy of the group picture. "Just think how nice it will be to look at it when you are all grown up and say, 'There's Jennifer, she's a lawyer,' or 'That's Michael, He's a doctor.'A small voice at the back of the room rang out, "And there's the teacher, she's dead."

A teacher was giving a lesson on the circulation of the blood. Trying to make the matter clearer, she said, "Now, class, if I stood on my head, the blood, as you know, would run into it, and I would turn red in the face." "Yes," the class said."Then why is it that while I am standing upright in the ordinary position the blood doesn't run into my feet?"A little fellow shouted,"Cause your feet ain't empty."

The children were lined up in the cafeteria of a Catholic elementary school for lunch. At the head of the table was a large pile of apples. The nun made a note, and posted on the apple tray: "Take only ONE. God is watching."Moving further along the lunch line, at the other end of the table was a large pile of chocolate chip cookies. A child had written a note, "Take all you want. God is watching the apples."

"Blogging With Desi Baba"

Hi Friends,

I realise that one of the good thing about blogging (other than making money) is learning how to write an article. By exposing yourself through blogging, you are actually forcing yourself to keep on writing and hence, perfecting your writing skill. Another good thing about blogging is you are allowing yourself to enlarge your social circle of friends. The amazing thing is, you can have friends from all around the world!

Enough for the introduction part, I am glad to tell you that I have just met a new friend today. It is from this blogging world that I came to meet a person called Sunny, through his website: Blogging With Desi Baba. Ha! You may be asking me, who is actually Desi Baba and why I mentioned about him. Well, for a start, you can visit his website here: Blogging With Desi Baba. (Right click and Open in New Tab/ Window). If you are a new blogger like me, you would probably agree with me that he is actually very generous in sharing his blogging experiences to his reader.

One of his posting that captured my attention is: "Review Your Blog Yourself". In this post, he mentioned that most of the new blogger make mistakes by going after money and forgetting about the quality of the contents of their blogs. It is indeed a reminder for me to focus not only in the prospect of money making possibilities, but also to really focus in the content of my own blog. In my opinion, he walks his talks too. His recent entry: "Why I Rejected a ReviewMe Offer" is a perfect example why I said that.

"Master Your Mind Design Your Destiny"

Dear Friends,

Today I will share with you about a book titled: "Master Your Mind Design Your Destiny". The authors of this book are Adam Khoo and Stuart Tan. You can learn more about them from my previous posting.

This book claims that it provides strategies that empower you to achieve ANYTHING you want in life! Let me ask you this: What was on your mind, when you read the sentence - "anything you want in your life"? Well, I have to admit, in the past, I used to have this skeptical thinking pattern towards anything that sounds too powerful or too WOW.

You also may be saying, "I dont care who is Adam Khoo, I dont really believe in what he says" or "If he is really that rich and successful, why is he still trying to make money by selling book? and etc etc". Fine. No problem. But honestly, to be fair to your self (and Adam Khoo), you should ask yourself, why are you thinking that way?

Do you realize that the way we speak or react to things may sometimes be similar to our parents or our close friends? In fact, we are what we are today because we have been influenced, directly or indirectly, by things happened and the people we met in our life. Well, from this book, I discover a thinking model which explains the way humans performs and how we can use this to 'program' ourself for instant success. I have also learnt the key to our thoughts & behavioral patterns and why we keep sabotaging our own success even though we say we want to be successful.

Let me give you example of concrete results in my life. During my Bachelor time studying about Civil Engineering in Nanyang Technological University, I used to have this thinking saying that I am not good in dealing with Structure subjects. Why is that so? Because I always get low grades for Structure subjects! (I got both D for my Structure 1 and 2). On the other hand, I scored A for both Soil Mechanics 1 and 2 subjects. So I believe that "I am not good in Structures, and only good in Soils". And so I said to myself repeatedly and unconsciously.

Well, I am glad after I've read "Master Your Mind Design Your Destiny", I managed to successfully break this limiting belief! When I took part time Master in NTU, I had the opportunity to challenge myself, to apply the knowledge I gained from reading this book. I chose structures subjects like Design of Reinforce Concrete Structures and Design of Tall Building. Those are famous as killer subjects. The results? I am proud to say that I got A- and A+, respectively. In fact, my total GPA is 4.69 out of 5. I can tell you that, this is the highest academic achievement in my whole life!!

Now I believe that anything is possible, only if you believe so! Only if you allow your mind to think that is possible. Only if you did not give up in the first place. Only if you still have faith in yourself! Of course I am not saying that we are better than GOD. We are, nevertheless, still a human being. We have our own stengths and weaknesses. My point is, more often than not, we did not realise that we are actually limiting ourself to limiting beliefs that keep sabotaging our mind. Only by learning how do we maximise the full potential of ourself, then we can achieve "ANYTHING" we want in our life! That's why I highly recommend you to read "Master Your Mind Design Your Destiny " by Adam Khoo and Stuart Tan.

I Am So Pleased To Learn About This!

Good day, Everyone!

How are you today? I wish all of you are fine! I would like to share with you two things that make me happy today :)

First thing.

When I checked my yahoo mail this morning, I receive a notification mail saying that Adam Wong has made a new post. As you may recall, I wrote that I am learning from Adam Wong in my previoust post, here. What made me happy (and very pleased!) is, to learn that Adam Wong actualy mentioned about me in his new post, today! You can read what he posted, here. In his post, he humbly said that he is just a 24 yrs old kid, but to me he is actually one of my role model. Why? Simply because I learn a lot from his blog and his achievements really inspired me to learn more and more.

Second thing.

You know I created this blog, 4 days ago, that is on last saturday 26 May 07. And if you noticed about my first post, is actually about learning to make money through internet. As I said earlier on, one way to achieve that is by using Google AdSense. Well, the second thing that makes me happy today is to learn that my Google AdSense application has just been approved by Google! That means, I can start posting it in my own blog! And today is just the fourth day since this blog was created!!

Well, another thing I learn from this and it just reinforces my empowering belief is that you have to take ACTION if you want to be successful in your life. It doesnt matter how you define what success is, be it in terms of career, study, financial, relationship, spiritual or anything. You just have to start to take ACTION to pursue your dreams! You simply cannot afford just to sit back and do nothing and only dreaming about your goals. Learning From Adam Wong

I first knew about Adam Wong, from Adam Khoo's blog. He was initially a student from a Singapore Institute Management (SIM). While still a student, he has the opportunity to partner with Adam Khoo to market all of Adam Khoo's product online.

If you just happen to visit his blog, you would agree with me that he is actually a very funny person and seems to be friendly. That's one of the reason why i like to visit his blog.

His first project with Adam Khoo turned out to be succesfull, selling the digitized version of Adam Khoo's book: Secrets of Self-Made Millionaires. In two weeks, he managed to earn a total of US$9000!! Very Impressive, indeed.

I first learned about Google Adsense from his blog too. Unfortunately, I was too caught up with many works and study responsibilities at that time (2006), so I didnt really have much time to follow up the knowledge I gained from him. Now that I have more free time (actually, I still have to write my dissertation..errgh), I really want to catch up learning and absorbing as much as I could. I think, it is never too late to learn about anything, right?! As long as we have an open mind and willingness to learn.

As I previously mentioned, I first learned about Adam Khoo from Merry Riana's book: "A Gift From A Friend". At that time (around July 2006), I totally didnt know who is Adam Khoo, despite the fact that I have been staying in Singapore since July 1998, which to me is a bit strange.

Nevertheless, after I did some research about Adam Khoo, I was very surprised to find out that he is actually a self-made millionaire by the age of 26. He owns and runs three businesses with a combined annual sales of $20m. Learning from Merry Riana

Merry Riana is one of my Indonesian friends whom I know personally during my 4 years of study in Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. Actually, I knew her when we attended the same preparatory class in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Learning to Make Money From Internet

Today I learn so many things in the internet. It is so amazing to know we can learn almost anything under the sun, with Google.com. You just need to type your questions, and chances are you will get your answer!

Another thing I recently came across is about Google AdSense. You make a blog. Apply for Google AdSense. Wait for approval. Once approved, add the AdSense code in your blog. Everytime people visit your blog and click the Ads, Google will pay you!! That's it!

What?? Sounds very interesting and easy way to earn some extra money, isnt it?! Well, I try to do some research, and was surprised to find the truth! The truth is so many people out there have been making money from Internet!

All of these facts, simply turn me on to do more research on this matter. If other people can make millions from the Internet, I believe I can too! And if you believe in yourself, I am sure, you can too! Never underestimate the power of your mind.
